After collecting our audience feedback from the draft of our music video, we decided to make a few alterations based on the comments they made. We noticed that not a lot happened in the opening of our music video and in order to prevent people from getting bored, we could cut down some of the shots in order to speed up the pace of the video however keeping the contrast between the still frames and the fast moving shots of the lights. We found that this then gave us some extra time at the end so that we could develop the story without giving away the entire plot and keeping a sense of mystery.
There was also an interesting comment about the title sequence and making it more interesting. This inspired to use an effect we had seen in Flo Ridas music video for Wild Ones:

We found this technique effective and decided to use it for our title sequence. After adding it to our music video, and editing it so that it fit in with the music, we decided to use it throughout our video. We felt that this would make it more interesting and look more professional. This technique allowed us to bring the audience’s attention to certain lyrics and break up the shots. It was also a way of connect two different shots and making it less ‘boring’.
There were also a lot of positive comments on some of the editing techniques used for example the jump cuts, rewind and fast-forward. We continued to use these throughout the music video as well as expanding on the story with the female character continuing to get ready.
